Kandi is a Sales Director for JetAVIVA. An industry veteran with over 20 years of aviation experience, Ms. Spangler began flying in 1993 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1999. Her career includes both operational and sales roles for companies like NetJets, The Air Group and Jet Support Services Inc. (JSSI), and Jet Brokers. In addition to aircraft sales, Ms. Spangler is a freelance writer and has written for reputable industry trade publications such as Professional Pilot magazine, DOM magazine, World Aircraft Sales, and CFI Mentor magazine. Having lived in various locations in the U.S. throughout her career, she has been previously involved in promoting business aviation through organizations like the Midwest Schedulers & Dispatchers Group, the Chicago Area Business Aviation Association (CABAA).
Chris grew up flying in Colorado with his father at Jefferson County Airport which inspired him to start his own flight training in the early 2000’s while obtaining a degree in aviation technology from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Starting his career with Aircell (GOGO), Mr. Swathwood transitioned to an aircraft sales roll with both a brokerage and manufacture before starting Altivation, an aviation consulting and aircraft brokerage firm in 2018. Chris’s passion to promote and further aviation started in College as he served as Vice-President for Alpha Eta Rho, a professional aviation fraternity where he worked to help highlight the benefits of aviation within the state. Upon joining CABA in 2011, Chris has continued to focus on advancing aviation throughout the state as he spearheaded CABA’s important legislative actions, and continues to be a voice for aviation both on the state and national stage.
Matthew Feltner is a Senior Associate for Willis Towers Watson’s Corporate Risk and Broking segment. In his corporate career, he manages and builds corporate insurance and risk management programs for aerospace & defense, aviation, and telecom companies. Before diving head first into insurance, he worked in banking and consulting which has parlayed very nicely into his volunteer efforts as Treasurer. As Treasurer for both the Association and Foundation, Matthew oversees the financing and accounting functions, reviews and recommends appropriate insurance policies & risk mitigation procedures, and is responsible for regular reporting of CABA’s financial positions to the Board of Directors. He lives in Colorado Springs, and is married with three children.
Gretchen Jahn brings over 40 years of entrepreneurial, executive, and board-level leadership. Her work spans aviation, software, and manufacturing industries, both domestic and international. She was COO of REMOS Aircraft (Germany), general manager of Alpha Aviation Ltd (New Zealand), and CEO of Mooney Airplane Company (Texas, USA). She was co-founder of Aegis Analytical Corporation (now part of Dassault Systems), a provider of analytical software to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Gretchen received her BA from Lawrence University and her MA from the University of Colorado. She also obtained her CIRM from the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS). As an avid pilot and airplane owner for more than 40 years, Gretchen holds a US commercial pilot’s license and a New Zealand private pilot’s license. She is on the board of AeroInnovate (EAA), Aviation Community Foundation, South Central Section of the 99s, and competes in cross-country handicapped speed racing.unity.
Chris’s 20+ years of aviation experience began at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with studies in airline operations and air traffic control. Chris worked for a 121 carrier servicing both United and Delta Airlines during which time he flew various regional jets as a First Officer and a Captain. In January 2005 Chris started his aviation management company, today branded as Precision Aircraft Management and located at the Centennial Airport, specializing in aircraft management and charter operations. Chris has over 8000 hours of flight time, encompassing operations under Part 91, 121 and 135.
Barry Stidham is a Colorado native and began his flying career in 1987 learning to fly at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport. Barry has been involved exclusively in corporate aviation encompassing a wide variety of roles throughout his career. Mr. Stidham began working for Ball Corporation in 1998 and has been its Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot since 2008. Barry attended Colorado State University and Regis College earning his undergraduate and graduate degrees respectively. He resides in the Denver area.
Iver L. Retrum
Aviation industry veteran and entrepreneur, Iver Retrum has a diverse aviation and real estate background. He has held important leadership positions with Signature Flight Support, ARINC Direct, Precision Aircraft, Steven’s Aviation, SunBorne XVI, Ltd., and most recently as Director of Business Development and Operations at McClurg Century Investments. He has over 25 years of frontline experiences in aviation operations and real estate development.
